Tata motors recently delivered thirty buses to the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). This was a result of their continuous efforts to make mass transportation more comfortable and safe. There is a large order of over a thousand buses to be manufactured for the BMTC. These thirty buses are a part of this order. Tata Motors will be providing buses mainly comprising of two models – LPO 1512/55 BS IV and the Ultra 6/9 BS IV Midi.

The handover ceremony was held recently and presided by Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri. Siddaramaiah and Transport Minister, Shri. R Ramalinga Reddy. Officials from Tata motors and BMTC were also present.

Tata Motors is proud of its association with the BMTC and are delivering buses to them since the past nineteen years. These BS IV compliant buses from the next generation fleet and reiterates the company’s commitment pertaining to the usage of innovative concepts and technologies in Mass Public Transportation. Tata Motors looks forward to a continued partnership with BMTC with a view to bring a revolution in the public transportation system of the city. There are two thousand two hundred buses provided by Tata Motors in the BMTC and many more are yet to be added.

Tata Ultra 6/9 BS IV Midi

This is BS – IV ready completely buillt bus which has the TATA 497 TCIC engine. It is capable of generating a power of 92Kw@2400 rpm. The torque generated by it ranges from 400 Nm@1300 to 1600 rpm. It has a seating capacity of 30. The bus provides ample of gangway space for standees. It is equipped with modern features like security camera and vehicle health monitoring system. The presence of the OBITS cannot go unnoticed. OBITS stands for on- bus vehicle intelligent transport system. A Fire detection and suppression system is also fitted.

Tata LPO 1512/55 BS IV

This bus has a ISBe 5.9 BSIV engine which is fuel efficient.
Power : 98Kw@2500 RPM
Torque : 430 Nm@1300 to 1800 rpm

It is powered by Tata Cummins SCR technology. Stiffness is offered owing to reduction in vertical load by the Weveller Suspension. To make the ride more comfortable Pneumatic suspension is used.
